• • Hallelujah! Firstly I will praise the name of the God with song and glorify Him with thanksgiving.
    
    At this moment, in my head, I would like to recite “Numbers 6: 24-25 ‘“The LORD bless you and keep you; 25 the LORD make his face shine on you and be gracious to you;
    Through this, I have realised that our God tried to bless and be gracious to me, my kids and our family throughout the experience at Bible and Prayer school.
    
    I haven’t heard anything about Bible and Prayer school before and it was actually a sudden decision to join the high school group before starting the Term 1 in 2020. When the leader explained the biblical curriculum, the purpose of this training and how to foster leaders among high school students for the future. I believed that God gave the opportunity to inspire my kids and allow me into his plans. So I happily embraced it and asked my kids whether they wanted to join in, to which they also willingly accepted.
    
    However I was a bit worried about how my kids were able to manage and balance their school work and/or extra-curricular along with daily bible and prayer tasks. It sounds difficult to manage their schedules after school because they would have sports or something else.
    
    Throughout this year, I have taken upon the role of parent-supervisor for the students. As well as, a teacher from second term. I believe that this opportunity was given by His grace. If I had remained as the parental supervisor, I might have been more lenient with my kids’ involvement in the bible study group; but as I became a teacher, I was able to undergo the same daily tasks and was able to share daily spiritual inspiration with the students.
    
    I also started to pray for all the kids in the group and my children were also able to witness could their mum’s spiritual journey and relationship with God. It also showed that their mum was not an exception to miss out on meditation of the daily bible and prayers. So when I checked whether they have completed their daily bible tasks, it became not only a task for them, but rather everyone’s tasks. And naturally, It became a habitual routine in our family.
    
    Before, when we had our family bible gathering, my kids were reluctant to participate in reading the bible or just mindlessly read through without any understanding. Through tasks such as highlighting verses revealing their findings about the characteristics of God, they have started to be more conscientiousness in reading the bible and meditation on His words.
    
    They were also encouraged to pray through the 4 steps of prayer; praise, confession, thanksgiving and intercession. Their prayer habits has changed to develop a more specific conversation with God. These training supported the children’s faith by turning it into a step by step pattern which could ultimately develop their own independent religious practice in everyday life.
    
    I used to expect that my kids could nurture their faith and spiritual lifestyle if they just attended Sunday school, (of course they still do), but I believe that the further lessons on establishing proper bible reading reflection and prayer, they could become more encouraged and gain values such as having the courage and confidence with their relationship with God by reading the bible.
    
    They could also mature spiritually and adapt their faith into an ordinary routine.  In my personal prayers, I hope that more kids can involve in groups like these and these lessons should be implemented at the church, so more students can have similar spiritual experiences like what we had.
